How To Apply Garage Flake Flooring?

The most important step in our Atlanta garage flooring epoxy process is floor preparation. We never apply a coating if we are not 100% satisfied with the floor.

  1. We start by mechanically diamond grinding the concrete floor until we remove all dirt, oil, grime, stains, etc. We test the floor to ensure the concrete pores are open. We also verify we have the right concrete profile.
  2. Then we repair any cracks and holes in the concrete.
  3. Once we are happy with the look of the concrete we apply the basecoat and broadcast the flakes. It is like snowflakes falling down on Christmas day.
  4. When the basecoat is fully cured, we brush off all of the excess flakes and then apply the UV-stable topcoat.

Cost Of Epoxy Garage Flooring

As every garage floor is different and requires tailor-made performance, there isn't one price that fits all. We provide garage floor coatings tailored to various needs. This includes residential garages, car dealerships, car showrooms, mechanical workshops, performance engine shops, racing car workshops, and parking garages.

What is flake epoxy flooring, and how does it differ from other types of epoxy flooring?

Flake epoxy flooring is a type of epoxy flooring that incorporates colored vinyl flakes into the epoxy coating. These flakes create a textured, multi-hued appearance that enhances aesthetic appeal and provides a slip-resistant surface. Unlike regular epoxy flooring, which is typically smooth and uniform, flake epoxy flooring has added depth and visual interest due to the presence of flakes.

Flake epoxy flooring offers several benefits, including high durability, resistance to chemicals and stains, enhanced aesthetic appeal, and improved slip resistance. It is ideal for various applications such as garages, basements, commercial spaces, and workshops. The textured surface also helps to hide dirt and minor imperfections, making it a practical and low-maintenance option.

The installation of flake epoxy flooring can be completed in one day. The process involves preparing the surface, applying the epoxy base coat, broadcasting the colored flakes, and finally applying a clear topcoat. While the installation itself can be done in one day, it typically requires 24-48 hours to fully cure before the floor can be used, ensuring optimal durability and performance.

Yes, flake epoxy flooring can be highly customized. The colored flakes come in a variety of colors, sizes, and blends, allowing for a wide range of design possibilities. You can choose specific color combinations to match existing decor or create a unique look that complements your space.

Yes, flake epoxy flooring is suitable for both residential and commercial use. Its durability and resistance to wear and tear make it an excellent choice for high-traffic areas such as garages, workshops, retail stores, and showrooms. In residential settings, it is often used in basements, laundry rooms, and outdoor patios due to its aesthetic appeal and practicality.
